Frequently asked questions
How is ecommerce conversion rate calculated?
Divide the number of orders by the number of sessions (or visitors) in the same period and multiply by 100. For example, 20 orders from 1,000 visitors is a 2% conversion rate.
What is cart abandonment rate?
It is the share of add-to-cart events that do not become orders: 1 minus (orders divided by carts). A high rate usually points to unexpected shipping cost, checkout friction or trust issues.
Why does revenue per visitor matter?
Revenue per visitor combines conversion rate and order value into one number. Raising either AOV or CVR increases it, and it helps judge how much you can afford to spend on traffic.
Should I use sessions or unique visitors?
Use the figure consistently. Sessions count repeat visits and usually give a slightly lower conversion rate than unique visitors; pick one basis and keep it the same across reports.
