Why the $15 threshold matters

Poshmark has exactly two fee tiers. Sell an item for less than $15 and you pay a flat $2.95 regardless of the exact price; sell it for $15 or more and Poshmark takes a flat 20%. The commission is calculated on the item price only — the buyer pays a separate flat-rate shipping label, so shipping is never part of the fee base. There are no listing fees, payment charges or subscription costs on top.

The flat fee is proportionally harsh on very cheap items: on a $6 order, $2.95 is almost half the sale. That's why experienced sellers avoid listing low-value singles and bundle items together so an order clears $15 (moving to the cleaner 20% rate) or well beyond it. If you need to net a specific amount, price the item at roughly 1.25× that target on a $15+ listing, then check against comparable sold prices.

Frequently asked questions

What percentage does Poshmark take in 2026?

20% on items priced $15 or more, and a flat $2.95 on items under $15. That single fee covers everything — there is no separate payment processing or listing fee.

At what price does the 20% fee start?

At a sale price of $15.00. A $14.99 sale pays the flat $2.95 (about 19.7%), while a $15.00 sale pays $3.00 (exactly 20%). The rates are nearly identical at the boundary, but the percentage tier is far better as prices rise.

Does the seller pay for shipping?

By default no. The buyer pays Poshmark's flat-rate shipping and you receive a prepaid label. If you choose to offer a shipping discount to make a sale, that discount comes out of your earnings, but the standard commission still applies only to the item price.

How much do I keep on a $50 sale?

Poshmark takes $10.00 (20%) and you keep $40.00. On a $10 item you pay $2.95 and keep $7.05.

Is Poshmark more expensive than Mercari?

On fees, yes for most items: Poshmark charges 20% ($15+) versus Mercari's flat 10%. But Poshmark's large, fashion-focused North American community can produce faster sales and stronger prices on brand-name clothing, which can offset the higher cut.
