Processing is charged on the full buyer payment (item + shipping + tax). Boost is charged on the item price only and only when a boosted listing sells. Sellers outside the US/UK still pay a 10% selling fee.
Depop charged a 10% selling fee for years, then removed it for UK sellers (March 2024) and US sellers (July 2024). On a normal US or UK sale today there is no commission — the only mandatory cost is the Depop Payments processing fee, which runs through Stripe.
The fixed part of that fee is what hurts cheap items: on an $8 US sale the $0.45 flat fee alone is 5.6% before the percentage. Bundling multiple items into one transaction charges that flat fee once instead of per item, which is a simple way to lift margin on low-value orders.
Boost is the one fee you can choose to avoid. For listings created from 23 March 2026 it is a flat 12% in the US and UK, charged only when a buyer who saw your boosted listing buys within 28 days — even if you switched Boost off in between. Turning on shop-wide "Boost Shop" is the fastest way to pay 12% on items that would probably have sold anyway, so use it deliberately.
Not from US or UK sellers. The 10% selling fee was removed for the UK in March 2024 and the US in July 2024. Sellers based elsewhere (selling in other currencies) still pay 10%.
With $5 buyer-paid shipping and no Boost, the only fee is processing: 3.3% of $55 + $0.45 = about $2.27. You receive about $52.73 before your own item and label costs. Adding Boost would add $6 (12% of the $50 item).
Processing yes — it applies to the item plus shipping plus tax. Boost no — it is charged on the item price only.

Depop Payments releases funds to your linked bank account on a rolling basis, usually a few business days after the buyer receives the item. The buyer-side marketplace fee funds buyer protection and never comes out of your payout.
